The Suitcase Junket Albany Concert reviews
Stevie and Rod rocked!
Rod Stewart really appreciates his fans, and that was evident in both his performance and his words. The graphics on the background screen were fantastic, especially the one of Rod in drag. He danced energetically across the stage and engaged with the audience in a playful manner, winking, flirting, and even "wagging his bum" at them. Watching people scramble for the soccer balls that were kicked out to the audience was amusing. The sleeping dog video on the screen was a bit out there but still memorable.
Stevie Nicks delivered an impressive performance, showcasing her incredible voice and song choices. She kicked off with just one new song, then proceeded to perform her solo work as well as a few Fleetwood Mac classics. The montage of her childhood photos and her father was a touching moment during her performance of "Landslide." She usually dedicates this song to her dad, but this time it was for her audience, adding a personal touch.
The duet between Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart singing "Passion" and "Young Turks" was an unexpected choice. It seemed like either Stevie had a wicked sense of humor or she was simply going along with Rod's idea, as he dominated the stage with his energetic presence. Despite some moments of scrambling to keep up, Stevie remained a trouper throughout.
Overall, both Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart put on a great show, each bringing their unique style and energy to the stage. The audience clearly enjoyed singing along to the hits and witnessing the artists' interactions with them.
